… your past doesn’t.
That quote recently came up on whatever social media I may have been on at the time & it stuck. Reminded me a lot of “your past doesn’t define your future”.
It’s pretty cool that sometimes things cross our paths for a reason -
I have a very strong tendency to block out (or forget) most of the past, and funny enough my high school is planning a reunion, first off… can‘t believe it has been almost 10 years.. & secondly, I remember very little of my time there (including the people).
We all out grow so many things - from clothes to shoes to people.
Growth will always come, just like the world doesn’t stop moving… neither should you. Embrace that growth, your future needs this “new” you.
constantly adapting, improving, thriving, etc.
Okay, now… a 10 year high school reunion... will I go? I mean I probably will make an appearance - but only if I am still in the same state.
Despite blocking out the details of whatever else I already learned from, there were definitely some experiences that I enjoyed and held on to.
I loved playing sports in high school & even following the routine of attending classes (yup, I liked routine back then too) ... I even met a friend back then at my school that led me to meeting my now husband.
So, If I am able to make an appearance, then I will go.
I would love to see that growth in those that I sat through lunch or even played soccer with.
& with all honestly, I don’t want to “reminisce“ …
I‘d rather just talk about the present - better yet, the future.
Keep moving forward.
