"Small wins make for huge accomplishments"
I know that some times we just want to take a HUGE leap - & want to do it all at once.
Unfortunately, we are more likely to call it quits when the going gets tough - because we are likely to get overwhelmed.
If you are tackling on something new - this goes with anything & everything
Break it down -
• Look at the big picture - make sure you understand what you are going to take on & why.
• Examine the parts of the task - figure out step by step what you need to do (its not going to happen overnight)
• Think about the logical order of completing the pieces - what to do first, second, third, etc.
• Create a timeline for completing your tasks - give yourself a deadline
• Have a plan to help you stay on track
I constantly try to take on new projects - to better myself & help others, but I have noticed that I have an expectation of finishing things overnight ... being a stay at home mom, with a bunch of other things on my plate definitely has shifted my timelines.
What has helped me stay on track was what I stated above -
breaking it all down, completely - step by step, and sticking to a routine.
If I say I am doing a particular task today, then I will get it done. If I am limited on time, then I set a timer - 15-30 minutes to get as much done as possible. NO DISTRACTIONS.
Remember - as you go along your tasks, as you progress make sure to celebrate the small wins because the final result will come as a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT.
Keep moving forward.
