OKAY so I don't usually do this, but this blog is coming directly from my most recent instagram post -
for the past couple of weeks, heck for most of my "adult" life, this specific theme has been pretty consistent: do what's best for your own well being (obviously, as long as doing what's best for you doesn't mean intentionally causing harm to someone else)
& with that comes the following:
there are times you have to protect your own mental & emotional health by distancing yourself from others
& that’s OKAY
I used to get really in my head when “friends” or even “family” would just come in to our lives to then just disappear …. especially those who made "promises", they obviously no longer kept. It would really put me in a hole.
I know this all stemmed from some trauma, I understand that now - I accept it.
& from it all I have learned - that it’s okay - the distance these people have given you will most definitely hurt at first but you can & will actually grow from it.
especially when there are so many "unknowns" from friends/family that just stop being there... that's like a tough pill to swallow; our mind (at least I can vouch for mine) starts thinking up any worst case scenario - believing that it's ALL your own fault ... that you pushed them away, that you did something wrong, that it's all on YOU.
That you are not worthy enough...
*yup, this is what I would struggle with & I know I'm not alone on that.
the truth is though; you are WORTHY. Those who chose to leave, will teach you valuable lessons (but you have to be willing to work on healing, willing to grow). & most importantly... don't take it too far, stop your mind (yell out PAUSE or just regroup & reanalyze!)
Relationships, like most things, change, grow or wither away.
just always remember this: YOU are the center of your own universe, care for yourself - your well being, & live day by day.
You do not have to work to “keep” someone in your life, those who are meant to be there with you will be.
& sometimes you will be the one to do the distancing
AGAIN that’s okay -
"enforce the boundaries around your energy ... don’t let anyone steal your inner peace."
*that comes from this one song that I recently came across, free me by Anees, that I feel you ALL have to REALLY listen to it.

REMINDER:
Go prioritize yourself:
Your physical health matters.
Your mental health matters.
Your emotional health matters.
YOU MATTER.
